Instax Review

Happy Friday!! I can not believe the weekend is here again already. Today’s post is going to be a review of my Instax Mini 8 Instant Film Camera. I got this as a gift for Christmas and wanted to really test it out and get a good feel for it before I wrote a review on it for anyone to read. When I read product reviews I want to know someone has been using it for a decent amount of time before giving it a positive or negative review. So, it has been almost a full two months since I have had this camera and the first and most important thing I can say about it is I LOVE it. First off, I am going to give you a quick run down of the specs I would want to know before I move on to the actual review.

  • The camera costs around $60 without film
  • It comes in a multitude of colors including black, pink, blue, yellow, white, and purple
  • You can buy it with different types of film, including ones with rainbow colored borders
  • The film is best to buy in bulk, about $35 for 60 sheets
  • The pictures print out on wallet-sized film
  • Multiple websites offer different film, accessory, and frame options
  • The camera fits well in the hand
  • The camera takes two AA batteries
  • The flash is automatic
  • The box comes with a wrist strap, batteries, the camera, and two packs of film when you order the bundle here on amazon.

Now, on to the actual good stuff. I got this as a gift from my parents on Christmas day. I had seen it a lot on the internet and thought “that looks super cool, I need one of those.” My favorite thing about this camera is how affordable it and that you get photos INSTANTLY. I love taking pictures on my iPhone but I can never have them as soon as I snap them like I can with this camera. After you snap your photo it will take about a minute or so for your photo to fully develop. The photos print out from the top of the camera. You can also take photos vertically or horizontally. You can do so much with the photos you take. You can buy albums to keep them in to have a vintage feel, you can tape them to your wall in different patterns, and I hung them up on some string you can get at the craft store. The camera is lightweight and so easy to carry around with you. The only thing that is a little disappointing about the camera is the fact that the flash is automatic and the film can get pricey if you like to take a lot of photos like I do. You can take these cameras to birthday parties, family holidays, and even on vacation. For the price of this camera, it is an awesome deal. You get an instant memory that you can physically display and show to your friends and family whereas with your phone you would have to take it somewhere to get it printed out. You can take photos and turn them into DIY gifts that would be awesome. An example of that is this fathers day gift. Overall, I give this camera a 10/10 for price, portability, and ease of use. I would highly suggest picking one up if you have been debating it. This gift was one of my favorites I have ever received and I can not get enough of it! Below I have added a picture of the camera, the box it comes in, and two photos I have taken so you can get an idea of what they look like. Also, if you do not like this exact model Instax has other cameras you can look at that I am wanting to try myself.

this is not an affiliate post, I just really love this camera and wanted to share it with you guys.
