The Blogger Recognition Award

Okay guys, today’s post is all about the blogger recognition award which I think it one of the coolest things ever! First things first I have to thank my friend Sushmita over at EFR International for including me in this. I wrote a post for them which was 5 Tips for Entrepeures to stay motivated which you can find here

The rules:

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
  • Write a post to show your award.
  • Give a brief story of how your blog started.
  • Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
  • Select 15 other bloggers for this award.
  • Comment on each blog to let them know you nominated them and link to the post you created

How My Blog Started

My blogging story is almost too boring to tell but it is one I enjoy. I really like writing, in fact when I was younger my dream job was to become a journalist. Throughout time, that dream slowly faded away as I was hit with “how would you ever do that?” from the people around me. A lesson I learned in that is DO NOT tell people what you are going to do, show them after it is done. I have always been someone who likes to see everything on the bright side, the glass half full, I am the optimist so with that my friend said Dylan, why not start a blog? For a while, I was not into the idea of blogging and kept asking what would I even blog about? Who would read anything I had to say? Eventually, I caved and started Dylans Daydream. I still feel like I am a new blogger myself, I did not really take my blog serious until February of 2017. I dabbled around before then and realize how much I truly enjoyed creating content for my blog but I knew I was not putting my full effort into it so I decided to make a change. February I started putting effort into the things I posted. I made sure the content I was putting out was content I would enjoy reading myself. I decided to shy away from niche blogging because I just could not put myself into the box because I just love blogging, about whatever comes to me. To sum how I started blogging up, a friend pushed me to do it and by starting I learned how much I loved it.

Two Pieces of Advice

Since I have only been blogging for less than a year am I really entitled to give advice to new bloggers? As I said before I honestly still consider myself a newbie and seek advice for myself. I do have some things I think may be helpful for NEW NEW bloggers as in you launched your blog today and somehow stumbled upon this post. 1. Do not give up. I know it can be hard when you are starting out and you feel like all your work is in vain. You want to get your posts out to the world and have all the followers, subscribers, etc. Blogging takes work and you must have patience because when you start getting comments and views regularly you will be so excited! 2. Remember why you started. Do not do this for anyone but you. Blogging is meant to be fun. Make content you’re proud of, post it frequently, but have fun doing so. Do not be afraid to share your thoughts and your opinions on topics that mean a lot to you. Your hobbies and interests are just as valid as anyone elses and if that is what you are blogging about you are already one step ahead of so many.

  2. Omg! Thank you for including me in this!! I have only had the site for 8 months. Like you, my story isn’t crazy exciting (boredom living in Ohio started it all but in hindsight moving here has been one of the best things that has ever happened to me). I plan on doing a similar post once I hit my one year mark-highlighting things I have learned and my advice to others :).
